Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy
Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy is a celebrated Indian music composer trio, consisting of Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani, and Loy Mendonsa. Together, they have transformed the sound of contemporary Indian film music by fusing Indian classical elements with Western genres such as jazz, rock, blues, and electronic music. Each member brings a distinct skill set—Shankar is a trained vocalist in both Hindustani and Carnatic music; Ehsaan is a guitarist influenced by rock and jazz; and Loy is a keyboardist with deep knowledge of Western classical and programming techniques.
They began their journey as a trio in the late 1990s and rose to national fame with the film Dil Chahta Hai (2001), which introduced a fresh, youthful sound to Bollywood. Their music for Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003) won them multiple accolades, including the National Film Award for Best Music Direction. Over the years, they have delivered numerous chartbusters across films like Bunty Aur Babli, Rock On!!, Taare Zameen Par, 2 States, and Raazi.
